How long do we hold pressure?
Shiatsu is a way of using pressure to relax, balance and strengthen the body’s energy system. To actually give treatment that does this can be a challenge no matter how well you know meridians, points (tsubos), theory and technique. Whether you’re pressing on SP6 or applying palm pressure down the back, it’s important that you understand what to do with what you feel under your hands. You need to be able to perceive how much pressure to give and for how long.
