A Key to Regulating Your Power: The Kundalini Channels

Kundalini: A Component of the Developing Light Body

The kundalini is a vital part of your developing light body. A strong energy that ascends upwards in looping channels, it interfaces with all of the vibrational and physical parts of your self. A your light body matures, all of the many components begin to function as a coordinated system and the kundalini becomes a driving force of the whole system. However, especially in the early stages of activation, any of them can operate in an unbalanced, misaligned or arrhythmic manner, creating uncomfortable symptoms or disease.

The kundalini can be especially ‘combustable’ and unstable. After all, it’s referred to as the serpent energy; think of how a snake can move and slither so quickly and you will have an idea how the kundalini operates. Since it has so much inherent force and is particularly stimulated through technology, it tends to accelerate and begin moving in an erratic manner through the system unless it is brought into a more functional movement on purpose.

Entering into conscious contact with your kundalini energy is an important part of learning how to operate your developing light body. When we begin to bring our conscious attention to this component of our energy system, there’s a better chance that we can enjoy the process of our evolution, and learn how to generate power without risking a meltdown.

Accelerating Kundalini: Not Necessarily a Good Thing

The kundalini can be quite volatile and strong. It can be activated by many influences, conscious and unconscious. One of the main things that can stimulate it unconsciously is digital technology, ie phones, tv, video games, etc. I don’t know anyone who is not using at least one of these things on a daily basis. If you haven’t prepared yourself and learned how to regulate this energy, it can create excessive friction in the body, emotions and mind, leading to mild or more severe disturbances. You can learn to journey into your kundalini and practice bringing it into smooth coordination with other components of your energy system in order to have a more vibrant and creative life.

If you are often in front of a screen, be aware that the quality of light and movement in the digital images can inadvertently stimulate kundalini activity. Children and sensitive people are especially effected in this way. Also, when you read about esoteric subjects, like light body activation and kundalini and chakras, these energies respond directly to your focused thoughts and emotions. These influences can result in high voltages of current moving through an unprepared body with no training on how to regulate it. This can contribute to many illnesses, especially mental instability and immune problems.

Physiology of the Kundalini

The kundalini is composed of 3 main channels: the ida, the pingala and the sushumna. In Saul Goodman’s introductory light body materials, he works with the ida and pingala nadis. Be aware that, similar to all the light body components, the kundalini is not a linear thing that can be accurately represented in a diagram. It’s a dynamic, multidimensional force that doesn’t actually operate in a way that we could use words or images to precisely convey. This description and the diagram are meant to be starting points for you to launch into what may be a very different experience of their actuality.

As your body’s energy system matures and activates, it becomes more of a priority to contact and coordinate the flow of your kundalini channels. This will support you to thrive as your soul vibration integrates more fully with your physical self and you move into more contact with other forces.

Working with the Kundalini

It’s best to release and relieve some of your physical, emotional and mental restrictions before working much with kundalini. This can be done through various meditation practices, bodywork, dietary habits, exercise, therapy and light body activation work. When the body, emotions and psychology are balanced and strong, the kundalini can flow smoothly through the body without exacerbating uncomfortable symptoms. As it moves in a vibrant, balanced way through the system, it brings a whole new dimension of energy and awareness into manifestation. Most people should not be trying to activate or accelerate their kundalini unless they have had extensive preparation and training.

Conceptual discussions of kundalini have value and can help us learn about it, but to truly begin to understand this vital part of our system, we need to feel it. If you would like to take a guided journey into a direct learning experience with your kundalini, you can listen to the podcast episode Regulating Your Power: Working with the Kundalini. We focus on two of the main channels, or nadis, of the kundalini in order to bring them into a more steady, rhythmic flow. Instead of trying to activate or speed these channels up, we will be feeling into them and slowing them down. This is a wonderful way to begin to harness the power of these channels to enrich and expand your daily life.
